Are you a Senior looking to access Aged Care support? • To start the process, contact the "My Aged Care" government service at 1800 200 422 to arrange an assessment. "My Aged Care" is available from 8 AM to 8 PM Monday to Friday and from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. • A family member or friend can represent you, or you can ask an aged care provider for a referral. • Aged care providers can assist with questions related to My Aged Care and Centrelink, as well as help you understand letters from both sources. • My Aged Care will arrange for an assessor to visit you and review your needs. The assessment is free of charge; however, it is mandatory. • Please wait for the results of your assessment. • If you are eligible for Government funding, you will receive a letter of approval from My Aged Care with all the information regarding the care package you have been approved for. • If your assessment indicates you qualify for the Commonwealth Support Programme, you will receive options for local services in your area or the assessor will refer you to a service provider. • You can reach out to an Aged Care provider to organize the details and assist you in moving forward. • Finding the right Aged Care provider can be challenging. We encourage you to visit the My Aged Care government website and explore the “Find a Provider” section. This resource can help you make an informed decision that meets your needs.
